For a few weeks, the Nation was united in one belief. That this year, there was a real possibility football might come home.
Gareth Southgate and his young side dominated in their group matches and after making it to a semi-final for the first time since 1990, there was a real chance Harry Kane and co. could win the whole thing.
Unfortunately, England crashed out to Croatia in a devastating 2-1 defeat last night – they didn’t need our suggestions for penalty takers after all – and the dream of another World Cup win will carry on for another four years. If you need a hand coaching in 2020 Gareth, here are some people who’d be up to the job!
Now England’s World Cup 2018 dream is over, you might be wondering what you can watch now. Well never fear, mFortune’s mobile slots characters have handpicked a couple of suggestions to keep you entertained in the evenings.
1. Love Island
It’s the OTHER television event of the summer that’s had everyone talking. Will Megan ever make up her mind over who she fancies? Are we getting a Bank Holiday when Jack and Dani get married – #Jani4Eva? Can someone please send some Factor 50 into the Villa for Dr Alex?!
Love Island season 4 is well underway and has some surprising similarities to the Wold Cup if you’re looking to fill a void. The regular re-couplings leave the singletons on the subs bench, the drama could really benefit from some VAR to stop the arguments, and couples are regularly dumped from the island and miss out on the prize at the end.
mFortune’s very own Robinson is a complete Love Island addict, though he’s not planning on sharing his slice of paradise with a whole host of singletons any time soon…
2. Orange is the New Black
The Netflix original is back for a sixth season at the end of July which is the perfect time for you to binge-watch post-World-Cup-2018. And if you’ve not watched any up until this point, there are five whole seasons to catch-up on before season six starts!
Orange is the New Black is set in a women’s prison and follows the ups and downs of life behind bars. The new series will introduce some new characters, as well as pick up where it left off with some old favourites. It’ll come as no surprise to you that Buster Safe is a huge fan of this crime drama, though of course, he doesn’t plan on being caught by Officer Longarm any time soon!
3. The Great British Bake Off
While there’s no set date for the next series of everyone’s favourite baking show, there’s no doubt that The Great British Bake Off will fill the void left by the end of the World Cup. After all, what says “Great Britain” like a bunch of people baking cakes in a tent in the countryside!?
Prue, Paul, Noel and Sandy are all back for the 2018 Great British Bake Off – as is, we assume, the giant tent – but other than that everything is still shrouded in mystery. Or is that icing sugar? It’s hard to tell the difference…
‘s Giuseppe is, as you’d expect, really looking forward to the next series and can’t wait to get some ideas for the next bake he can attempt. Let’s hope they’re a little more successful than his last batch of casino cakes…
Of course, if none of these TV shows take your fancy, there’s an eclectic mix of exclusive mobile slots games you can enjoy right here at mFortune. We’ve got detective dramas, , feline friends, and even our very own .
